Doyle's Style & Catch up posts....

Legs must be hot & everything else is cold

Yankee Doodle Doyle...

Long time no blog. (Not really the end just a break, so no time like the present to get back on the blog bandwagon.) This will be the first of many posts and the first couple will include the clothing choices (or lack there of) of a 3 year old. So during these past few months, Doyle has come to enjoy not wearing pants and combining long shirts with boxer briefs and a stocking cap. That combination was on a warm spring day. Eventually the hat came off as he was starting to get a little too hot on his head.

What has Doyle been doing these last few months:

  • Tumbling class where he can do a somersault but not always when the teachers asks; running around in class; walking on the low balance beam alone; walking on the high balance beam with just an adult hand for guidance; crawling in the tunnel; swinging from the parallel bar; and rolling in a big wheel that reminds me of a hamster in a wheel cage.

  • Swimming lessons with Mom. Doyle has progressed since we began classes, although he still has not dunked his head in the water; he does attempt to swim with help and of course LOVES playing with the pool toys at the end.

  • Reading books from the library; especially Mo Willems Elephant & Piggy series and the Pigeon; the If you give a ______ series; and new surprises each time we get books from the library. This last time we checked out a Babar book and he enjoyed hearing about Queen Celeste. (He kept asking me if I had a dress similar to hers.) Note to Aunt Mary Beth: he saw the stuffed animal Queen Celeste that you gave me years ago.

  • Playing with his trains; sandbox & water table.

  • Going to "playgrounds" (aka parks)

  • Doing things all by himself.
